07 Feb Best One Hour Ever!
On my last day in Lagos, I got treated to a one hour boat ride and it was amazing! Best one hour ever!
Although I’ve gone on several boat rides (to get to places like tarkwa bay & to skip traffic to get to the mainland) this one was particularly memorable!
Maybe because I literally spent one hour riding to nowhere in particular, feeling the cool ocean breeze, taking loads of pictures and just soaking in the amazingness of God’s creation!
It was in the evening and so I watched the sunset from the boat, it was the most beautiful thing. I felt a freedom I cannot really put in words. I’ve always had a thing for water, the beach, and just nature in general!
I made a pledge there and then that I must have a beach house & I must have a yacht! Amen, Lord Jesus!🙏🏽
Ok so we took off from Fiki Marina that’s just after The Civic Center in Victoria Island.
While waiting for them to ready the boat, I ordered some kebab and took some great pictures of course.
It took about 30 minutes for them to be ready for some reason.
We got on the boat and I got comfortable quickly! The waves were rough but that just made it more fun. The captain even let me handle the steering for a minute, Omg!
At some point I went out to the front of the boat and that’s where all the magic happened for me. The sunset guys, wow!
It had a really awesome one hour, the only feeling I can compare it with is eating really awesome shawarma from Ebeano supermarket with a bottle of chilled five alive pulpy juice.
The gist is, it was the most satisfying one hour ever. I truly really needed it. Every now and then, it’s good to take time to just breathe. Get away from the hustle and bustle and just enjoy life. I am definitely doing this again! Maybe next time it’ll be two hours! There’s just something about being in such a large expanse of water that makes me imagine how big the world is and I’m thinking; Look what God made, look how big he is, my own life is a small matter really! Last last, we go dey alright!
Love & Light!
